OILS FOR HEADACHES

Yesterday I had a migraine from literal hell. I don't think that I've ever experienced a migraine so painful before yesterday and I'm thankful that it's over.

It could have stemmed from a few things - not drinking enough water, not eating enough, not taking care of myself, not putting good food into my body, over-working myself, forgetting to take my LLV supplements, my hormones being all over the place, etc.

And I honestly DID end up taking an Ibuprofen because the oils were barely touching it and it was making me nervous... BUT these oils right here are my usual go-to's for minor headaches that usually work right away. Yesterday, these oils worked best at assisting and making the Ibuprofen eliminate the pain even quicker than if I had just taken it alone.

  • Copaiba - inhibits certain proteins and complexes involved in the inflammation response. In doing so, it can effectively modulate the acute (as opposed to chronic) inflammatory response.
  • LavenderAccording to researchers, aromatic and topical use of lavender oil affects the limbic system because the main constituents, linalool and linalyl acetate, are rapidly absorbed through the skin and are thought to cause central nervous system depression. For this reason, lavender oil can be used to treat headaches caused by anxiety disorders and related conditions.
  • Peppermint - plays a role in stimulating blood flow in the forehead when applied topically, which effectively alleviates a tension headache.

Then I have a little pre-made roller bottle of Deep Blue, Frankincense, Lavender, and Rosemary for headaches that usually does the trick as well. This blend is what I reach for at the first sign of any headache, and then I will add additional oils if needed.

I pulled out back up for my back up yesterday and it still didn't do the trick alone.
